Pico island is famous for it's unique vineyards, where the grape is growing horizontaly on volcanic soil. Mostly white wine (but some reds too), it has a nice mineral taste and some saltiness (as it's so close to the sea): with a meal, this wine is a perfect match with the local seafood and fish.
