With his good looks and ability to sing, dance and act, he charmed millions of fans worldwide through his music records, live concerts and movies he made during his lifetime. This cultural icon was a true performer of all things and definitely a heartthrob who enjoyed strong following among crazed women. This album is a tribute to Elvis with two additional layers of Basquiat graffiti art and street vignettes.
Went to shoot in San Francisco's Chinatown. I decided to walk away from the usual tourist streets so I went through the alleys. And so I saw Evan.....
He said he was practicing his Shaolin Kung Fu and his master lives in one of the tiny apartments there. It was fun to watch Evan. His focus, his moves, his craft....it made my day!
I originally built "Jean Pierre" for a stop motion movie, but I never had the time to do it. After some time he got really bored by doing nothing, so I decided to give him a second career as a model. He likes it ;)
The first session was made with a fisheye during a concert of Kap Bambino. I just thought, ahh well why not use this film for a double, because I expected a lot of black on the first pics ;). The second part was made at an art exhibition. And ofcourse the doubles session made in Amsterdam, saw a lot ot signs with text!
Anyhow, I did get some awesome results, but the most pics are a bit like, hmm where did that concert go??
