Stills from art house cinema
This series ends with Satantango, 1994, directed by Bela Tarr.
It’s a definite contender for the best art-house movie ever!
Despite its 8 hour length, it’s never boring. It seems to be revealing deep and mysterious secrets about the human condition.
There is a compelling cast of characters, none of them free of flaws.
Above all, the black and white photography is amazing. Even Washi film can’t make it look any more visceral than it is already is!
