Back in Nice for a Week End, I made again one of my favorite photo walks: following the path of Jean Vigo's masterpiece "A propos de Nice " (1930) to shoot some of the places in the movie: the old city, castle hill, castle hill cemetery and finishing on the famous "Promenade des Anglais". One thing about the link between these 2 movies: Jean Vigo's cameraman, Boris Kaufman, was the brother of Dziga Vertov's cameraman/actor, Mikhail Kaufman... Enjoy the movies and the pictures! :)
Leading up to the football eclipse this saturday which is the final of the champions league in Berlin. The Olympiastadion is hosting the event and everyone will drink an extra hot choco on the withdrawal of Sepp Blatter. Cheers to Football.
So it happend. Herr Willie went to the DPRK. And more importantly came back with 80 something films. This is the first album. Telling from a joyus day among Northkoreans in a fantastic park in Pyongyang. I was asked to dance with a group of gracious ladies and whistled a tune. Bumped into a freshly wed couple and snapped away. It was a great day...
In Northkorea it's almost impossible to walk by yourself without surveillance and therefore contact with the locals is very limited. But there was this rare possibility, as we went up the giant stairs of the victory-monument in Pyongyang by ourselves. And there he was coming down, a pioneer. I asked him for a portrait, he was a little hesitant at first but then shyly agreed. I was very happy.

Meine neue Diana Mini wollte möglichst schnell ausprobiert werden, außerdem kamen im gleichen Paket ein Fernauslöser und ein Stativ, sodass ich mich gleich in der Lichtmalerei üben konnte! :-)
