coming here alone, even though it was just for a picture, was something I never wanted to have to do. it’s so weird how somewhere that is filled with memories of laughter and endearing moments between one another could feel so haunting to return to alone. it feels like you’re nothing but a phantom, from another universe, observing the historical site of a significant event— a complete dissociation from living the memory itself. It would be too painful otherwise.
