Rhyming Photographs

Rhyming photographs, grim subjects. One cannot but help remind me of the other in the specificity of their cruelty. That these were taken a year apart almost to the day was remarkable enough to pair them, to then look at each in a new way. It almost seems as though I am seeing death with different sets of eyes. The first suggests and wants to know more. The second reveals - unambiguously and, sadly, without surprise.
