At -Les Olivettes-

I am so happy with these nice portraits for two reasons: 1.) I’m usually too shy to ask strangers for photo-permission, but not this time. 2.) I don’t exercise portrait photography. After this positive experience, I think I should continue to do so. Les Olivettes offers an ambience from an entirely different time. You believe yourself transported back decades. Les Olivettes is a so-called Café chantant (French: lit. “Singing café”). It’s a type of musical establishment associated with the belle époque in France. The concept: a small stage, a pianist and everyone who wants may sing, usually French chansons. The vibe there is so cavalier! For me it’s the most mystic place in Liège.
