It's a team running race all around the 100km of the island. My brother took part at it and ran 10km. We were following and supporting him and, of course, I was shooting with my Ricoh KR10, using the fantastic zenitar 16mm fisheye lens, and sometimes the also fantastic Pentax 130mm telephoto lens :)
On a break between setups, I quickly stole my onscreen love interest away from the studio, sat her on the steps of her trailer, adjusted my focus, snapped this shot, and wrestled with the ejected photograph to try to keep it from the sunlight which had already killed nearly a whole pack of film. I resisted the impatient urge to check the image, opting instead to leave it face down in the greenroom while we broke for lunch. Upon returning an hour later, I was expecting to find another blown out over-exposed failure, so imagine my joy when I turned this over and saw it for the first time - I think this is one of the best pictures I've ever taken.
In upper Egypt when the wind is not strong enough, the sailboats attach the boats together and make use of the two sails to move faster, Ingenious tradition and a very beautiful scene to watch!
