So, some time ago I found and developed some rolls of Ilford HP3 from 1946 that turned out to be a family holiday in Scotland [www.lomography.co.th/homes/guin/albums/2174266-found-film-i…]. Ever since I discovered the images I have been fascinated by the story behind how these images never went beyond being exposed until I purchased them as expired rolls of film. I decided that I would like to set about creating a project to attempt to locate the original subjects in the images even meet the children who would now be in their 70s and give them copies of the photos as prints, a returned memory and something from their childhood. I have conducted a lot of research in to the images and have now identified most of the locations in the images and have set about re-documenting them to sit alongside the originals looking at how the areas have changed or even remained the same. These are the first from yesterdays trip to Dochart and Auchraw, the location of the hotel. Sadly the hotel no longer exists and the land is partially overgrown or now has some unfitting cabins and bungalows on what was once the grounds of the hotel. I knew this from my research but it did feel very disappointing when I initially arrived. I also shot some a roll of Ilford HP3 as a throw back to the origianal rolls and will be running it through the developer later today. Further trips will include visits to Glenfinnan and Glen Coe to name just a few.
