On the threshold of my 38th anniversary I upload some selection of mine childhood shots. Recently I made a big rescan on Nikon Coolscan-V all my family slide archive in maximum resolution. So I want to share some results. These slides were taken by my dear Papa circa 1976-1987 with Zenit-E camera, Helios-44 2/58mm. on famous and the best from accessible on the Soviet market slide films - glorious GDR Orwochrome UT 18. So please enjoy these warm, yellowish family masterpieces from non-existent country USSR
Well i got bored the other night decided to make roll of redscale film using the old flip cut a stick technique.
I had several problems with this roll and im very suprised i got the results i did. Firstly the film expired in 2002 and alot of the film was rotten so much so there was a portion of film where the sprockets had perished which brought me to my second problem, which was that i couldn't load the film on the reel as it kept getting wedged when it reached the perished part of the film. Then finally as there was no reel in my tank i couldn't guarantee it was light tight either! Shooting was an issue too as i rated the film at 50ASA and i don't think England has ever been bright enough to allow you to shoot pictures at hand held speeds! Therefore i mainly just kept the camera set to f/2.8 - 1/60 :D
I found these photographs in the antique shop in Warsaw. I think they were taken in 50's or 60's. Some of them have dedications on the back e.g. "for Kazio" etc. Skiing in the Tatra Mts., holidays in Leba (Baltic Sea), school trip, charming beauties, playground etc.
The Keys, Homestead, and Naples. I've been running around on weekends. I've been using a flash lately. Sometimes I forgot to set the sync speed so I got have frames from the curtain. Development took 18 minutes in a 1+100 dilution of R09 (Rodinal)
