Venezia is well known for its picturesque canals, charmingly coloured houses and blue-green waters - all highlighted lovingly by the golden rays of summer sun. However, for my first ever trip to this amazing city, I wanted to show another part of its beauty: its cinematic nights wrapped in tones of amber lights; its familiar faces going about their daily lives.
A good part of the weekend consisted of getting lost in Venezia's maze of sepia alleyways, and in that process discovering how Venetians conduct their daily activities. One thing that I never have thought before was how multicultural the city is; within the short trip I met residents coming from various parts of Italy, the UK, Ireland, Mongolia, America, Bangladesh, Poland, and Costa Rica; all embracing the simple lifestyle of the beautiful city.
I love walking through Soho at night; it's decorated beautifully with colorful neon lights, their warm glow creating subtle atmosphere out of the evening scenes.

When visiting London during this time in my life I had one song playing on repeat, which was Alabama Shakes' 'Sound and Color'. The song is about an astronaut who has been sent to find a new Earth, and after waking up from his 500-years sleep, realises that everything has gone wrong. He sits alone in his cockpit, remembering the sounds and colours of his past memories on Earth. When I think back of my time living in the UK, some of the strongest memories that pop out are the sounds and colours; SoHo's warm glow of neon lights, the subtle noises of people going through their day, the comforting evening scenes. I know I've moved onwards in my journey to find more amazing places, but sometimes I can't help but think - maybe just like the astronaut in the story: what would life be like if I had stayed?
Fuji Superia 200 was xpro´d in E6 chemicals and exposed twice, first with a mask inside the camera and taking pictures of patterns. Was a great experiment :)
