#expired high speed ektachrome 100 ASA E-2 shot at 80 ASA and developed as negatives in replenished C22 chemicals which is closer to E4 at the end of the day. Reportedly, E3 High Speed 160 can be (could have been) shot at 250 ASA if developed in C22 developer. This roll seems over exposed or overdeveloped in areas. Artistically, not bad but not intentional - however quite FOUDROYANT. I might have shot it at higher speed. I'll have to check on another roll and see if I can find a safer speed. Also there was some distress to the emulsion. I did not use a hardener before or during development (as called for) because I am waiting for some Chrome Alum instead of using potassium alum, which I chose not to. Developed at 70 degrees F all development stages were at the same temperature, although development should have been 76 degrees. Emulsion might not have survived much higher temperature. Developer formula is: Water at 21 to 27°C (70 to 80°F) 750 mL Benzyl alcohol, 3 ml Sodium sulfite, anhydrous 7.60 grams Potassium iodide 0.1% solution in water 28 mL Sodium bromide, anhydrous 0.80 grams Sodium hydroxide, 50% solution 4. ml (solution = 10 grams in 10 ml of water ?) Trisodium phosphate, dodecahydrated, crystals 36.0 grams KODAK Color Developing Agent CD-3 10.5 grams Water to make 1 L pH over 11.25 (although C22 should be about 10.25) This was earlier replenished with E4 replenisher which pushed up the pH. The formula may be too hot for the film. Developed for 14 minutes at 70 degrees F Stopped for 4 minutes Wash 8 minutes Bleach - potassium ferricyanide 8 minutes Wash 8 minutes Fixer (aluminum thiosulfate) 6 minutes Final wash 8 minutes
